Coimbatore: March 4 International Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS) IX , the flagship annual exhibition of EEPC India , opened in the textile and engineering city of Coimbatore today with participation of 400 global and Indian exhibitors ranging from well-known international engineering giants to Small and Medium Enterprises who would connect with the best in the world in terms of value chain and technology technology in the next two days.
The IESS was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.C. Sampath; Hon’ble Minister for Rural Industries and MSME, Government of Tamil Nadu, Thiru P Benjamin and Commerce Secretary, Department of Commerce, Government of India, Mr Anup Wadhawan; Principal Secretary to Government, MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Dr Rajendra Kumar; Deputy CEO, MARii( Malaysia Automotive, Robotics & IoT Institute) Mr Azhar Taib
Mr Wadhawan said IESS has moved to one of the fastest growing Tier II cities with respect to engineering. Coimbatore or Kovai, is the Pump City, meeting 50% of national motor and pump supply, 30 % auto component
Welcoming the honourable Tamil Nadu ministers, ….and the Union Commerce Secretary, EEPC India Chairman, Mr Ravi Sehgal said , this year’s would be the ninth edition of the IESS . In the Southern Region, this would be the fourth in a row,. Schlumberger of the US, SAGE Group of Australia and Indian PSUs including Vizag Steel, GRSE and Indian Railways would be actively participating in the event, not only showcasing their technological strength but also sharing the best and contemporary manufacturing trends.
‘Subcontracting’, ‘Industrial & Electrical Machinery’, ‘Metal and Shop Floor’ and ‘Innovation & Technology’ are the four broad theme of this edition of IESS, all of which are critical components of the engineering value chain.
