Chennai, 9th December 2019: The International Association of Lions Clubs (also known as Lions Clubs International) is the largest, fastest-growing service club organisation with over 48,470 Lions Clubs and 1.46 million members spread over 210 countries.
Lion N.S Sankar – Past International Director, said in India Lions Clubs are running more than 100 Eye hospitals, cancer detection centres, orthopaedic camps, diabetes detection camps, kidney dialysis units, activities for youth, blood donation drives, etc. 5,000 Paramedics have also been trained in internationally recognised training Institutions and over 30 lakh cataract surgeries have been done. Vocational training programs are carried out towards empowering women and promoting health and sanitation programs towards the disabled by equipping clinics and hospitals, etc.
ISAAME Forum conducted in a chosen place wherein Lion members from different countries congregate to improve their friendship, camaraderie and share the best practices in their service activities. Lions Clubs International Foundation, where already launched Campaign 100 to mobilise US$ 300 million for various service activities will be unleashed / taken to the next level of propagation.
